Cross-Drive, originally developed as a file-management-system extension to a web-based e-mail system, grew to a seperate software containing more than just file-management functions.
With Cross-Drive you can switch-off your ftp and do more.
Manage your webspace with ease. Access your files where ftp is not available, i.e.behind firewalls.
Cross-Drive is a web-based file management system. Installed on your webserver Cross-Drive allows to manage a large amount of files stored in directories on a server computer. For better file management zip-archives can be created and extracted. Additionally, urls can directly be downloaded to Cross-Drive without the detour along the private PC. Even bookmarks can be created.
Cross-Drive requires a standard webserver (i.e. Apache) and Perl to be installed. If installed, your files are accessible via http or https without any plugins.
Since Cross-Drive is written in Perl, it can be extended to your requirements.
Cross-Drive is easy to install. A simple setup script will question the necessary parameters and guide you through the installation process.
System Requirements: Standard webserver with cgi configured to execute Perl, Perl 5, Linux, and Zip/Unzip.
Most Unix derivates should work without changes. Some Linux installations miss Zip/Unzip programs being installed by default. Ask your provider or technical support. Installations on windows are not tested yet.
This website is management with Cross-Drive!
